I hate to wait. Really, really hate it. It depresses me, puts me in a funk, and sometimes makes me act irrationally. But, as a legal recruiter, I’ve started to accept the fact that waiting is a critical part of the process for myself as well as my candidates.In this business, it is imperative to understand that the job search will take time and there is very little that recruiters or candidates can do but accept that the wait is part of the game. For example, I recently worked with an absolutely stellar candidate that as soon as I received her resume, I thought it was a slam dunk and that she would be placed in a matter of weeks. That was four months ago.
Hence, I learned that even the most fabulous candidates will take time to place and this is becoming especially true in our current market.
