Advice to law firm management: Start from ground zero. Stop firing everyone. Give raises. Treat people with repect.

Pros: Beer on every other Friday. Good parking. A few nice support staff.

Cons: The firm wants 2,500.00 billable hours. The partners have their favorites. If one is not a partner favorite, not good. Profanity is not allowed other than by the partners. I was invited to play Raquetball with a partner and when I beat the partner 15-4, my life at the firm was awful. There are no raises or bonus's unless one is a favorite of partner. No security and I had a laptop stolen Associates were not supposed to give bad new to a carrier and we sere told to lie. Big brother is always miscro managing.

Pros: Good parking. If you are a favorite of a partner is is a good place to work, Clean bathrooms. Beer every other Friday.

The firm does not pay for parking at the court houses' The partners use profanity but associates are prohibited from using profanity. I was told I was a moron!

There are no raises and/or bonus'. Since many attorneys work from home, lawyers are required to share offices. Partners love to second guess the lawyers work product. Pros: Some support staff are pleasant. There seems to be enough legal work to go around. Ability to work from home.

Cons: Unbelievable billing requirements. The partners have their favorite associates. Micro-managing. Lack of support from the partners and the staff. Attorneys have to share offices. No raises or bonus'. The office is locked on weekends. Only select few associates are invited to golf with the partners. 18 attorneys left the firm and no one knows why. Brief cases and trench coats are stolen. None of the associates like each other. Associates will not cover depositions so depositions get adjourned. Cursing is not permitted other than by partners.

Pros: Ability to work from home. No one cares if the billing is not honest. The support staff is friendly. Once in a while, one partner will invite attorneys to his beach house.

Cons: One attorney will not cover for another attorney. I was told that an attorney had a lap top stolen in the office. Partners like to second guess. If feels like "big brother" is watching. Awful billing requirement. Since quite a few attorneys work from home, attorneys share offices. The operating system sucks. Absolutely no training with the operating system. When an attorney is fired, there are no warnings. The firm does not pay for parking at the courthouses. Raises almost never occur. The firm never pays a bonus. Women are not respected by the male partners.

Pros: Not permitted into the office on weekends. One or perhaps two judges think the firm is not too bad. Some secretaries will bring to the office left overs. Parking is sufficient. Jeans and sneakers once a month.

Cons: The firm has an awful reputation. The billing requirement is insane. No paralegals. Partners second guess everything. No one is ever doing a good job in the eyes of the partners. No new partners. Firm will not pay parking at the courthouse, tolls or CLE. 18 attorneys recently left the firm and no honest explanation as to why. Pros: Nice secretaries. I like my work colleagues. A lot of work to be done. A lot of time in court.

Cons: Partners are not around much. Expected to bill 2,400 hours a year. Small to no raises. Never a bonus. Poor and expensive health insurance. The computers rarely work. Not allowed to bring lap top to work. Trench coat was stolen.

Cons: Unreasonable billing requirement. Not permitted into the office on a weekend. No para legals. I had a new brief case and a trench coat stolen in the office. Personal lap tops on not permitted in the office. Partners are rarely around. There are no new partners.

Pros: In some offices, the parking is sufficient. One in four staff members have a smile on their face.

Cons: Over billing requirement. Unless one is an experienced attorney, little to no court time for everyone else. The firm does not have a brief bank and has never heard one. Awful reputation with the judiciary. Will over pay for cases since the attorneys misrepresent the cases to claims. The firm refuses to go to mediation. Cons: No one had an answer why 18 employees left the firm including 15 attorneys. All that I was given was the "party line." It was as if I was in the Soviet Union. Pros: The only pro is that when settlement came around, this firm paid almost double what they should have paid and my carrier paid very, very little.

Cons: Attorney in the case would not pick up the phone. Had to file a motion to get anything from the Marx & O'Neil attorney. When I asked for a supervisor, I was told "no." Impossible to confirm depositions. The Attorney would show up for depositions and for court late.
