Advice to law firm management: Back then, I'd say he needed two or three assistants, not one. He did too much himself. If he had let us do more of the everyday stuff, we could have freed him up to do more money-making work, so he should have hired two others and powered through to the next level. Probably would be a bigger firm now.
Pros: It was mostly just me and him but sometimes his wife too, doing his books. He always took the time to explain how to do things his way and WHY he wanted it done that way. He didn't just say i'm too busy or shut up and do it, like some would, so I learned a lot. Super smart lawyer, but easy to talk to.
Cons: Small firm meant fewer benefits than big billboard places (like no group health insurance), but the hourly rate was competitive.
Partners to Avoid and Why: Only one here, and no need to be avoided. It's fine, he's cool. This was 10 years ago, btw, but drop down list below stops at 2017.
Favorite Things About this Firm: He treated me like a person who had something to offer (like the ability to maybe be a lawyer myself someday) not just as some kid doing his filing and scheduling.
