Cons: 1. The firm does not have a human resource personnel, office manager, or any administrative support. 2. The firm sets unrealistic expectations for all employees. For example, attorneys are to manage 80+ cases. First year associates are not provided a full time paralegal, legal assistant, or legal team, but are held to the same standard as a senior attorney in terms of making their monthly revenue goal. The first year associates are to be their own legal staff. If the first year associate is lucky, they will be assigned a student. More on that later. 3. Student Associates can work as much or as little as they want, including drafting all legal documents, acting in place of an attorney and a paralegal. Student work is not typically reviewed by an attorney and is submitted under the attorney's license. The firm is well aware of this practice and supports it, despite being malpractice. 4. Clients are not communicated with as often as they should be. For example, there are several clients who have not been spoken to in 6+ months. These clients have personal injury cases, business matter related cases, etc. The nature of the case warrants stable communication. Clients often do not get to speak to anyone until they threaten to fire the firm or threaten a bar complaint. 5. The owner of the firm commits malpractice because despite the only licensed attorney in a particular state no longer with the firm, the attorney files cases utilizing that attorney's bar number without their permission. 6. You are expected to work all hours of the day and night, especially if a hearing is soon and the attorneys haven't prepared. 7. Toxic work environment. 8. The owner does not care about morale.
