Thomas Bohan, Esq., Ph.D., first opened the firm as Thomas Bohan & Associates in 1982. Patricia Mathers, Esq. joined the firm and later assumed management of the practice in 2002, at which time it was renamed, Bohan Mathers & Associates. In 2013, Perkins Olson, PA, a Portland law firm that specializes in business law, acquired Bohan Mathers & Associates from Patricia and renamed the firm Bohan Mathers, LLC.
In 2016 Patricia Mathers moved into a semi-retired position, at which time Jeffrey Joyce, Esq., assumed management of the practice. In 2019, Bohan Mathers, LLC, was acquired by Eaton Peabody, a statewide full-service law firm. Jeffrey Joyce, Esq. and Harry Bee joined Eaton Peabody and currently practice out of the Portland office at 100 Middle Street.
Today, the Bohan Mathers team combines the legal experience in the practice of intellectual property law, with the necessary background in engineering, science, and business to represent our clients in securing and protecting their intellectual property rights in a comprehensive and efficient manner, regardless of how basic or complex the particular intellectual property may be and regardless of whether the client is a small Portland business or a large international corporation.
