Patwrite Law

I am passionate about helping private inventors and small businesses get the intellectual property legal help that they need. My father was an inventor who had many of his inventions stolen. I recall him trying to get a patent attorney to help, but it was intimidating and very expensive.

When I worked for law firms, I found that we couldn't really offer much to the struggling inventor who didn't have at least ten to fifteen thousand dollars to pay for a patent. I founded Patwrite Law with the goal to educate, answer questions, and keep our fees within reach of the private inventor and small business.

I received my B.S. in physics and a M.S. in science education from the State University of New York at New Paltz. I received my JD with Honors from Drake University Law School.
About Mark Torche

I worked as an intellectual property associate with the law firm of Ostrolenk, Faber, Gerb & Soffen, P.A. in Manhattan. I also worked on a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, computer and internet patents while at Ostrolenk. Some representative clients included Chase?, Olympus?, Fuji Electric?, Mitsubishi Motors?, and International Rectifier?.

I am admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and am a member of the New York State Bar, where I am admitted to practice in Federal Court in both the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York (not admitted in the State of Iowa).

I have worked in a research laboratory on several industry sponsored programs, designing and building thin film quantum display devices. I taught physics, both in high school and at a college level, and was a consultant helping to integrate technology into the classroom. I have also worked with major corporations such as Texaco and International Paper to develop linkages between industry and education."
