Founded in 1992, Behr, McCarter & Potter, P.C. is primarily a firm of trial attorneys. We focus on complex civil litigation, working with national and international insurers, business owners, contractors, hospitals, physicians, municipalities, and individuals on a wide range of cases. We handle matters throughout Missouri and Illinois in both federal and state courts.



Our attorneys have been recognized for their excellence in practice. Tony Behr and Steve Potter are recipients of Missouri's most prestigious trial lawyer award, the Lon O. Hocker Memorial Trial Lawyer Award, making Behr, McCarter & Potter the only firm in St. Louis County with two recipients of this award. Tim Reichardt is a recipient of the David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award, which is awarded annually to three Missouri attorneys "whose tenacity, professionalism, and judicial skills epitomize outstanding appellate practice," based on recommendations of a panel of Missouri Court of Appeals Judges. Our lawyers include former law clerks to judges on the Missouri Supreme Court and the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico.

Tony Behr served a six-year elected term as a member of the 21st Circuit Judicial Commission (St. Louis County) for the selection of judges, during which term fifteen judges from diverse backgrounds were appointed to the bench. Tony Behr, Dudley McCarter, and Tim Reichardt are past Presidents of the St. Louis County Bar Association, and Steve Potter is a past President of the Lawyers Association of St. Louis. Our attorneys are actively involved in their churches and parishes, as well as local and national charitable organizations. We are proud to have on our team a veteran of the United States Army, Dudley McCarter.
