ALBANY - Carter Conboy , one of the largest law firms in the Capital Region, will close its doors early next year after close to 100 years in business.
The firm, known officially as Carter, Conboy, Case, Blackmore, Maloney & Laird, announced it will dissolve in a statement issued late Tuesday. It will permanently conclude its business in the first quarter of 2020, the statement said.
The firm said most of its staff will leave Dec. 31. Other employees will leave shortly thereafter, once they complete ongoing work. A number of employees are expected to be hired by new law firms or former Carter Conboy attorneys who are now elsewhere. The firm said it will help employees in the transition
