Its former offices on the 15th floor of the 300 West 6th building still feature Clark, Thomas & Winters signs, but the quarters are now occupied by Duggins Wren Mann & Romero LLP, said Chuck McDonald, a spokesman for the latter firm and formerly a spokesman for Clark Thomas. Duggins Wren Mann & Romero was started last month by several former Clark Thomas attorneys. Meade Bauer, the former president of Clark Thomas, said Monday evening that no lawyers have been practicing at the firm since the end of March. He said partner Larry McNeill is the sole shareholder and officer of the firm and has been handling payments to creditors and other issues. Clark Thomas still has the lease on the space, and the new firm is paying rent to it, McDonald said.lark Thomas, which had 120 attorneys in 2009, has seen a steady drain in its legal staff while dealing with economic problems in recent years. The firm's close association with the once-beleagured Pedernales Electric Cooperative didn't help, though former firm officials said that was not a major factor in its downsizing.
