In 1985, Lloyd Snook started J. Lloyd Snook, III, P.C. Four years later, Sheila Haughey joined him in practice, and the firm became Snook & Haughey, P.C. We are now four lawyers, and we concentrate our practice on litigation ? criminal and civil trials, criminal and civil appeals. We have represented over 11,000 clients since 1985.
We are proud to call ourselves trial attorneys. That means that we prepare each case as though it is going to trial. That means that we work at how to present our client's case at trial, even when that means wading through thousands of pages of medical records in a personal injury case, or boxes of financial records in a divorce case, or hundreds of witness statements in a complex criminal conspiracy case. We are always willing to settle a case if our client feels it is in his or her best interest, but we are always prepared for trial.
We have tried to organize our law firm around a few principles:
We look for cost-effective solutions to our clients' problems.
We will tell you if your problem is one that you can work out on your own, or whether you need a lawyer. We offer a free consultation to talk about your case, so that you can decide if you need to hire us. But note ? this free consultation is NOT "free legal advice." Our legal malpractice insurance carrier insists that before we give you any advice that you would rely on, you need to be a client. We are happy to give you some advice to let you handle your own problems yourself, and the fee for that advice will almost surely be less than the cost of hiring an attorney to handle the matter entirely, but it is not free. If we get to this point, we'll talk about what those fees will be.
We work together, as a team, for our clients. We talk about our cases with each other, and bounce ideas around on how to get the best result for our clients.
