Franklin D. Azar founded our personal injury law firm in 1987. A cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate from the University of Colorado, Mr. Azar obtained his law degree at the University of Denver. He grew up in Trinidad, Colorado ? where his father was once District Attorney, and where he himself served as an assistant DA ? and retains many connections and commitments to his hometown.
Known locally for his expertise in personal injury cases, Mr. Azar soon gained national attention for bringing the first case in what evolved into a 26-state class action lawsuit against Walmart stores over its labor practices. That case and others eventually led to more than $750 million in settlements from the company in cases in which Frank Azar & Associates was directly involved. The litigation also changed how Walmart paid its employees for overtime and missed rest and meal breaks.
Mr. Azar has devoted his career to the representation of the under-represented. He actively supports various food banks, youth service groups, and other charitable organizations, and his Azar Invitational Tournament has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for scholarships in southern Colorado.
