Our office also hosts Jeans Day for a Cause, which generates donations for the Food Bank. New York Cares At the holidays, our office participated in a community day of service on behalf of the Winter Wishes program of New York Cares. The program matches holiday wishes from children and individuals in homeless shelters and schools with volunteers who purchase and sends gifts to community partners that distribute the gifts. These gestures help thousands of less fortunate New Yorkers experience the magic of the holiday season in a way that is personal and from the heart. Coalition for the Homeless We support the Coalition for the Homeless in several ways, through an MLK Day of Service Event and with Jeans Day for a Cause donations. The coalition is the nation's oldest advocacy and direct service organization helping homeless men, women and children. Since its inception in 1981, the coalition has worked through litigation, public education and direct services to realize these goals.
