Dorsey & Whitney is a law firm based in the Twin Cities area with a strong reputation and impressive clients. Reviews of the firm from former and current employees indicate that it is a great place to work and develop a career. People have described the environment as friendly, welcoming, and caring, with great benefits and work events. The staff are reportedly supportive and willing to help each other, and there are multiple online resources to help with learning and development.

Unfortunately, some reviews indicate that support staff are not given the tools they need to succeed and that the technology is outdated. In addition, Dorsey does not match 401k until nearly two years on the job and there are few amenities in the office. Furthermore, there are reports of high turnover and a lack of leadership.

Overall, Dorsey & Whitney appears to be a great place to work with supportive staff and multiple resources for learning and development. However, there are some reports that the company is not providing enough support to its staff and that the technology is outdated. Advice to law firm management: Treat your staff with the respect and consideration they deserve. They take a lot of pride in their work but you do not recognize their hard work.

Pros: good pay and benefits, but not too many raises.

Cons: Management over the staff does not support the employees and treats their staff with absolutely no respect. Attorneys are very easy to work with but the staff management has been there way too long and does not realize how to treat good employees. You cannot manage people when you're more concerned with your success (ego) than the overall success of the firm. Bad combination.

Partners to Avoid and Why: Partners were always very kind as were the associates.
