Although we regularly take cases to trial, many of our greatest victories are achieved outside the courtroom and far from the media's glare. We have recently negotiated favorable out-of-court settlements of multimillion-dollar civil disputes for major corporate clients and secured dismissals or non-prosecutions of serious criminal charges against individual defendants. We are frequently called upon by large multinational law firms to conduct sensitive internal investigations or represent corporate officers and executives in high-stakes criminal investigations. Though we commonly litigate against powerful government agencies with much greater resources than our clients, we succeed by carefully managing pretrial strategies and focusing on our clients' ultimate goals.

Our attorneys graduated from top colleges and law schools and clerked for federal judges. Several worked in government service before entering private practice, and most came to us from much larger, blue-chip law firms in search of greater autonomy and challenge. Founding partner Nanci Clarence and partner Josh Cohen are Fellows of the American College of Trial Lawyers, an invitation-only group comprising the top 1% of trial lawyers in the United States and Canada. We are proud that our lawyers are engaged in the community, holding leadership position in local and national bar organizations, teaching law students, and mentoring disadvantaged youth.

Though our cases are venued nationwide and frequently take us far abroad, we are first and foremost a Bay Area firm.
