Harris, Finley & Bogle, a professional corporation, practices civil law across the country from our offices in Fort Worth, Texas. Our team includes more than 30 lawyers, with comprehensive knowledge in a wide variety of legal areas, and approachable personalities that make us easy to work with. Founded in 1977 by Charles Harris and Dee Finley ? later joined by partner Bill Bogle ? we have a reputation for expertise in some of the most technical areas of law, such as title examination for oil and gas issues.
While we've logged successes over four decades, we believe we're only as good as our next case. That's why our focus is on building a legacy with every individual client, some of whom have been with us more than 30 years.
Our Founders
Harris, Finley & Bogle's namesake partners instilled their core values in the everyday practice of the firm: quality, results-oriented legal representation; a commitment to hard work and the practice of law; and effective, responsive communication with the firm's clients regarding strategy and goals. All three partners actively practiced at the firm and remained committed to mentoring young attorneys and establishing a culture reflective of their values until their deaths in 2017-18.
Charlie Harris
Charlie Harris founded the firm in 1977. Mr. Harris was a graduate of the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets, a Korean War veteran, a part-time rancher, and an avid reader of history books. His deep love of learning and unparalleled integrity remain embedded in the culture of the firm. Mr. Harris was also widely acknowledged as an expert in the field of oil and gas law. He was a longtime member of the Texas Title Examination Standards Committee and was known for his concise and clear writing style.
Dee Finley
Mr. Finley was board-certified in commercial real estate law through the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and a recognized philanthropic leader in the Fort Worth community. He served on the board of trustees of the Baylor Health System and donated significant time to the HOPE Farm and Big Brothers Big Sisters. Mr. Finley also served as chairman of the Colonial Country Club PGA tournament from 2002-04, where he was instrumental in inviting Annika Sorenstam, the first female participant at the event, to compete.
Bill Bogle
Mr. Bogle was a graduate of Texas Christian University and one of the best litigators in Fort Worth. As was the case with the other founding members of the firm, Mr. Bogle had a deep love of learning that included literature, machinery (including an at-home printing press), birds, dogs, and calculus. Mr. Bogle's service as in-house counsel for an integrated oil and gas company helped form the basis for the firm's oil and gas litigation practice group.
