Lyden, Chappell & Dewhirst, Ltd. is a business-minded law firm based in Toledo, Ohio, with a satellite office located in Monroe, Michigan, serving clients primarily throughout Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan. Originally founded in 1998, the firm is currently composed of seven attorneys licensed in Ohio, Michigan, and other states, with a broad range of legal experiences and backgrounds. Many of our attorneys developed their practices in larger law firms prior to entering the firm, which affords our clients big firm legal experience through a congenial small firm environment.

The firm represents a broad spectrum of clients, including individuals, business entities, and not-for-profit organizations. Our primary concern is to achieve the best results for our clients' particular matters, while maintaining the highest level of ethical integrity. Our attorneys often work together on complex cases, in order to maximize our resources to provide effective and efficient results. The firm continues to grow each year, but has been able to maintain the small firm atmosphere that it was founded upon.

The attorney-client relationship is not supposed to be a "let the buyer beware" or a "charge as much as you can get away with" relationship. Regrettably, the corporate model used by so many law firms violates these fundamentals. Based on Wall Street-style financial metrics, it pressures attorneys to produce unrealistic financial returns on a short term basis. That forces attorneys to do what attorneys are not supposed to do: financial production becomes primary; everything else is secondary; and the attorney-client relationship becomes something it was never intended to be.

From the start, our business plan focused on creating client satisfaction over the long term, as opposed to generating as much income as we can from each client each month. Our rates, as compared to the so-called "big firms," reflect this approach. The idea was to create an ever-increasing body of continuing client relationships - satisfied, loyal clients who knew that we considered them to be our partners, not just fee producers, and on which we could depend for our professional success.
