Jackson Law Group was founded in St. Augustine in 2007 by Andrew Jackson.
Andrew is originally from North Carolina and moved to Florida to attend law school and, like many Floridians, never looked back after having experienced the warm Florida sunshine. During law school, Andrew worked as a law clerk for two prominent St. Augustine attorneys. He completed law school in 2006 and obtained his Bar License that same year to practice law in the state of Florida. Upon completion of law school, he made the decision to pursue his interest in tax law and continue his studies at the University of Florida. It was at the University of Florida that he earned his LL.M. in Taxation (Master of Laws in Taxation) in 2007. After obtaining his LL.M. in Taxation, Andrew returned to St. Augustine to work as Of Counsel for the same law firms that he once clerked for, practicing in Real Estate, Corporate, and Condominium & Homeowners Association law.
In 2007, while continuing to serve as Of Counsel, Jackson Law Group opened its doors and began providing Tax and Estate Planning services. Working as Of Counsel with these established and trusted law firms gave Andrew the opportunity to learn and grow from other well-respected and hard-working attorneys who, over the course of about three years, moved on to serve in public office. By 2010 when the two prominent attorneys began public service, the Firm inherited the practice areas of Real Estate, Corporate, and Condominium & Homeowners Association law.
As Jackson Law Group grew in practice areas and number of attorneys, so did the need for a larger space. It relocated from a small space on Cordova Street in downtown St. Augustine to the Whetstone building. Pretty soon, the Firm added the practice areas of Business Law, Probate & Guardianships, and Elder Law, just to name a few.
While the Firm has come to offer a variety of practice areas, we find it essential that each attorney has a specific area of focus. This enables us to work efficiently and effectively on each client's matter, which equates to the exceptional service we strive to provide. This understanding of practicing law has enabled our continued growth over the years.
In 2013, the Firm found its current home in the Harbour Island Executive Center on Anastasia Island. The Jacksons were proud to be able to purchase this space and help the Firm feel secure in its move. The Firm has seen the ebb and flow of the economy, as we all have, but has felt secure knowing it has a permanent space to plant its feet.
In 2015, we made the decision to become a fully electronic law firm, converting all of our files to electronic format and eliminating the need for paper files. Not only has this increased our efficiency by leaps and bounds, but it is eco-friendly and directly in line with our Core Values.
Throughout Jackson Law Group's existence, close ties with the community, local businesses, and organizations have been created and nurtured. We have partnered with many businesses and organizations throughout the community over the years to help grow and give back to the community that did the same for us.
