ASSAF & SIEGAL PLLC began operating as a merged law firm in November, 2010 and is the merger of the law practices of two of the most distinguished attorneys in New York State ? David M. Siegal and Michael D. Assaf. With their merger, they bring together a collective 65 years of proudly serving clients in New York, Massachusetts and Florida.

Mr. Siegal and Mr. Assaf, along with the associates and staff of the firm, have devoted themselves to creating a full service law firm dedicated to meeting the needs, requirements and expectations of their clients across a broad variety of disciplines and legal specialties. Though Mr. Siegal and Mr. Assaf are perhaps best known to the public for their outstanding work in the field of matrimonial and family law, they offer representation and experienced counsel in the fields of general civil litigation (both commercial and personal injury), corporate law and business organization, health care and employment law, criminal law, estate planning, estate and probate litigation, real estate (from residential and commercial closings, commercial leases, landlord-tenant to sophisticated real estate development, land use, zoning and permitting), bankruptcy, workouts and foreclosures, municipal bond work as both bond counsel and issuer's counsel, and defense of physician discipline.

Within the last several years, Mr. Assaf began an alternative dispute resolution practice focusing on the employment of the collaborative method to resolve disputes. Currently this practice is focused on matrimonial and family court matters but Mr. Assaf is committed to bringing alternative dispute resolution techniques to all of the firm's legal disciplines. Mr. Assaf handled the first collaborative divorce case in the Capital District and has used this alternative dispute resolution method to conclude many matrimonial matters successfully without intervention by any Court. So far, this method has yielded enormous cost savings for clients as well as minimizing post-resolution conflict between participants.

Mr. Siegal and Mr. Assaf share a fundamental philosophy of providing personal, exceptional, and cost-effective representation to their clients that consistently exceeds the expectations of clients by providing them with experienced, highly qualified personnel to resolve their individual matters at the lowest possible price.
