Our firm was established in 1985 by Bob Walker with only a few insurance and commercial clients. Over the years, Walker Allen has grown to be one of the premier insurance defense firms in North and South Carolina. Our firm takes pride in its reputation as trial lawyers known for thorough preparation and successful courtroom results. We strive to zealously and ethically represent our clients in civil litigation encompassing several distinct practice areas.

Our general liability section is diverse and includes automobile liability, commercial general liability and construction negligence defense. We also handle insurance coverage litigation.

Our professional negligence section represents health care providers, including physicians, physician extenders, nurses and dentists along with private practices and nursing homes in medical malpractice litigation. Our firm has extensive experience representing health care providers in medical regulatory matters, including professional licensing, credentialing, peer review, HIPAA compliance and Medicaid/Medicare audit and recovery investigations. We also represent providers with behavioral and substance issues.

A unique part of our practice is extensive involvement working with special investigations units. We assist in investigation of claims with fraud indicators including suspected staged accidents, arson and malingering. We have investigated and assisted in the prosecution of service providers across the state for fraudulent activities, including billing and structuring of improper corporate entities. Our firm brought the first known private cause of action by an insurance company in North Carolina against a service provider for racketeering, unfair and deceptive trade practices and insurance fraud.

We believe it is important that companies and the individuals they insure have high quality representation by attorneys with an understanding of local communities. Walker Allen has multiple offices in North and South Carolina conveniently located to provide services to clients throughout the Carolinas. Our firm has recently expanded services into Virginia, where two of our experienced partners are licensed to practice and available to assist with legal needs in the Commonwealth.

We have tried cases to successful verdict in numerous counties throughout the Carolinas. We enjoy a good working relationship with judges and courthouse personnel in these areas.
