Our firm believes involvement with the community is a vital function of the firm, and has chosen to focus its efforts on several key local and national charitable organizations:
Boys Town: Our lawyers and support staff sponsor Boys Town throughout the year. In December 2015, we took the children and their house parents to Tallahassee Tree Top Adventures for a day of zip lining fun, as well as donated presents for all of the foster children in the program. During the summer of 2016, we held an ?It?s Summer? party featuring a water slide, lunch, graduation cake and ice cream for all the families involved in Boys Town and graduation party for the young adults that graduated from the high school and were leaving the program. Tim Meenan and his wife, Jill, are co-chairs for the 2017 Spirit of Youth Gala fundraising event for Tallahassee Boys Town.
March of Dimes: Our firm and clients have been long-term supporters of the Chefs? Sampler event benefiting the March of Dimes, held each year in November in Tallahassee.
United Way: A substantial number of our staff gives to the United Way each year. We are able to earmark our contributions to go to specific programs in our local Tallahassee/Leon County community.
Compassion Forward: Our firm contributes annually the Compassion Forward fund for Asurion, LLC. Compassion Forward focuses their collective philanthropic efforts on helping people. Through it, they support their own team members and those in their communities by partnering with charitable organizations that help kids through the power of education.
Jason Ritchie Hockey Scholarship Foundation: Our firm also supports the Jason Ritchie Hockey Scholarship Foundation. The Foundation was founded in 2009 by the Ritchie family after their son Jason was tragically killed in a car accident that same year. The Foundation is funded exclusively by individual and corporate donations as well as grant funding from other sources. We are passionate about the wealth of potential for youth development through hockey. We honor Jason by helping kids excel in the sport that he loved so very much. Tim Meenan sits on the Foundation Board and assists with fundraising for scholarships.
School Supply Drives: We offer our help with back to school supply drives, holiday gift giving and other activities with the children that attend programs after school at the Boys & Girls Clubs throughout our region.
Joanna Francis Living Well Foundation: Our lawyers and support staff support the Joanna Francis Living Well Foundation, a local breast cancer patient support organization. During October, 2016, our firm held a ?Pink Out? day and made a donation to Living Well.
