Nicholas & Barrera is the oldest unchanged legal partnership in San Antonio, Texas. The association has been in existence for over 42 years. The named partners were both Chief Criminal Prosecutors in the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney's Office. Roy R. Barrera, Sr.* and Anthony Nicholas*, together with their sons, Roy, Jr. and Bobby (Barrera), and Stephen (Nicholas) specialize primarily in the defense of all types of federal and Texas criminal cases. Roy R. Barrera, Jr. is a former Bexar County Assistant Criminal District Attorney and State District Judge in San Antonio. Bobby and Stephen also prosecuted criminal cases in the District Attorney's Office.

The association includes Chris K. Gober, a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas, with over 17 years of experience with the Department of Justice and Janet B. Anderson who also served an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Texas for over 14 years.

Both Nicholas and Barrera have been named every year in the Best Lawyers in America since its first publication in 1983 and are included in the Martindale-Hubbell edition of Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers.
