April Macaraeg has over a decade of experience in criminal and civil law. Before focusing her practice on labor & employment and real estate law, she worked as a legal assistant in a criminal defense firm while obtaining her bachelor's degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. After graduation, she went on to work as a paralegal at the Decker Law Firm in Norfolk, VA in their criminal defense and civil departments. The late Peter Decker, Jr. taught April that the most important thing about practicing law was helping people. For several years April learned from and was mentored by several attorneys at Decker who inspire her to continue her journey into law school. April attended and graduated from Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles, CA. After passing the bar and becoming an attorney, April worked at well known personal injury and employment law firms as well as a nonprofit organization before she decided to open her own practice. Over the years, she gained experience in handling cases from intake to litigation. April found her passion for labor and employment after seeing so many hard working people be treated so poorly and unlawfully by companies. She believes that no matter what position an employee holds, they should be treated fairly and with respect.
