Troy and Scott took similar yet different paths prior to the formation of FR Law Group. Troy graduated from DePauw University in 1986 and went directly to law school where he graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 1989. He immediately moved to Phoenix where he began his practice with a large Arizona-based law firm. He continued to practice in Arizona eventually joining two large national law firms, where his practice emphasis was on insurance recovery on behalf of large and medium-sized businesses.
Scott graduated from Arizona State University, College of Engineering, in 1993, and received his Masters in 1994. From there, Scott worked as a construction engineer for an international construction company. With his interest peaked, as it had been from childhood, he went to law school to further hone his construction portfolio. He graduated from DePaul University College of Law in 2001. Upon graduation, Scott started his practice with a large law firm and eventually returned to the construction industry, where he served as general counsel for one of the country's largest contractors.
