Mitchell Gallagher is a Williamsport, Pennsylvania law firm that concentrates on defending individuals, businesses and insurance companies in civil law suits and related legal proceedings. Our attorneys have decades of experience in civil litigation and have appeared in county and federal courts throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

For more than 35 years, Mitchell Gallagher has provided excellent service to its clients. Our philosophy is to thoroughly prepare every matter, to diligently press each case to a conclusion, and to try cases if that is the approach the client desires. While settlement is often the favored resolution, the best position from which to settle a case is from one of strength - fully prepared to present the case to judge or jury. Although Mitchell Gallagher is based in Williamsport, Lycoming County, our attorneys regularly appear in the Courts of Common Pleas in 22 counties in Northcentral Pennsylvania. Mitchell Gallagher is the only "AV" rated firm (by Martindale-Hubbell lawyer rating service) in Northcentral Pennsylvania that concentrates on defense litigation, and appears in the Martindale-Hubbell Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers. This honor has been earned as a result of high quality representation, an excellent success rate and superior ethical standards, over the years of the firm's existence.

In 1976 Neafie Mitchell joined his son, C. Edward S. Mitchell in a partnership known as Mitchell & Mitchell. The firm concentrated then, as now, in defense civil litigation. Richard A. Gray joined the firm in 1976. The professional corporation Mitchell, Mitchell & Gray was formed in 1980. Robert A. Gallagher was hired as an associate in 1981 after the conclusion of a clerkship with Judge Thomas Raup, and became a shareholder in the firm in 1987; the firm name was changed to Mitchell, Mitchell, Gray & Gallagher, A Professional Corporation.

Neafie Mitchell retired from the active practice of law in 1987, although he continued his association with the firm as "Of Counsel" until his death in 1996.

Gary L. Weber joined the firm in late 1985 after a clerkship with Judge Clinton W. Smith, and became a shareholder in January 1992. Rick Gray became Lycoming County Judge in January 2004, and the firm name changed to Mitchell, Mitchell, Gallagher, Weber, Southard & Wishard P.C.

Jessica L. Harlow became an associate in 2012 and a Shareholder in 2018.

The firm name was simplified to Mitchell Gallagher P.C.

Through the years, the firm has always kept its focus - to provide the best possible and most cost efficient representation to clients who have been sued.
