F. Kelleher (Kell) Riess is the Managing Member of Hickey & Riess, a firm of tax attorneys practicing in New Orleans. He held appointments as a Clinical Professor of Taxation at the A.B. Freeman School of Business and as an Adjunct Professor of Law at the Tulane Law School for more than 30 years. He earned a B.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi, M.B.A. and J.D. from Loyola University, and an LL.M. in Taxation from Boston University. Mr. Riess is a past chairman of the Tax Section of the Louisiana State Bar Association, and under its Legal Specialization Program, is a Board Certified Estate Planner and Administrator and a Board Certified Tax Attorney. He is a licensed Louisiana Certified Public Accountant. Mr. Riess has written for the Journal of Real Estate Taxation and the Louisiana Bar Journal; and has been a speaker at the Tulane Tax Institute (where he serves on the Planning Committee), the Loyola University Estate Planning Conference, the Boston University Tax Institute, the University of Montana Tax Institute, the New York University Tax Institute, and the Louisiana Advanced Tax Workshop. Mr. Riess has been recognized by his peers as among the Best Lawyers in America, and one of the Top Attorneys in Louisiana by Super Lawyers.
