? 1975: Opening
The law firm was established in 1975 when Charles H. Williams, II, joined his father, Marshal B. Williams and formed Williams and Williams Attorneys at Law. In addition to practicing law, Marshall Williams was a state senator rising to become President pro tempore of the South Carolina Senate. Senator Williams served in the South Carolina Senate for almost 50 years.
? 1980s: Additions
Karen J. Williams, the wife of Charles H. Williams began practicing law with Williams and Williams in 1980. She left the firm in 1992 to become the first female judge appointed to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals. Judge Williams went on to become the Chief Judge of the Court in 2007.
Brad Hutto joined the firm in 1981 and would later be elected a state senator upon the death of Marshall Williams. He has served in the Senate continuously since 1996.
? 2000: The firm expands
The 2000s saw the additions of Russell A. Blanchard, IV, David R. Williams, Charlie H. Williams, and Virginia "Ginny" W. Williams. The firm's focus is plaintiff's trial work, including but not limited to auto accidents, trucking accidents, product liability, medical malpractice, workers' compensation and class actions. In addition to trial work, our attorneys handle will preparation, probate, and real estate.
