BCG Attorney Search speaks with attorneys about law firms every day. Here is what attorneys are saying:

et and higher paid employees, which I felt was a bit unfair. - Even though the hours are technically 9-5, there's sometimes a lot of extra work that needs to be done, and I often felt like I was working longer than necessary.

Arnold & Porter is a prestigious law firm that focuses on mental health and work/life balance for its employees. Reviews indicate that the supervisors and managers in IT are largely the best people the reviewer has ever worked with and are flexible when employees need time off. Unfortunately, the pay is not competitive and there is no chance of upward mobility. Additionally, benefits are geared toward larger and higher paid employees, and employees often find themselves working longer due to extra work. Despite this, the firm is committed to promoting mental health and work/life balance, and employees generally feel supported and respected by their supervisors.

Cons: The management team micromanages everything down to the minute. You are not allowed to think for yourself or speak your mind. There is little to no flexibility for work life balance.
