BCG Attorney Search speaks with attorneys about law firms every day. Here is what attorneys are saying:

Mayer Brown is one of the world's leading international law firms with a global presence in the U.S., Europe, Asia, and South America. With over 1,700 lawyers and legal professionals, the firm provides legal services to a wide range of clients, including corporations, governments, financial institutions, and individuals. Reviews from attorneys and other professionals who have worked at Mayer Brown are generally positive.

Many praised the team environment, noting the supportive atmosphere and smart lawyers. Employees also highlighted the high-profile, complex, and interesting work, as well as the good pay and benefits. In addition, they praised the hybrid schedule, which allows for a better work-life balance. Many also noted the free snacks and coffee available in the nice building, as well as the market rate salary.

Other positive reviews mentioned the opportunity to build relationships with attorneys and gain an understanding of big law, as well as the decent people and respectful partners. Additionally, employees noted the great compensation and health benefits, making Mayer Brown a great job for someone fresh out of college looking for an easy but sometimes physically demanding job.

The only negative reviews mentioned were a lack of room for career development, long hours and high stress, and expensive health insurance. The reviews also noted that the paralegal role was not well defined and there was no room for growth, making Mayer Brown not the best choice for those looking to advance their careers.

Overall, Mayer Brown is highly praised by attorneys and other professionals who have worked there. With a supportive team environment, high-profile and interesting work, good pay and benefits, and the opportunity to build relationships with attorneys and gain an understanding of big law, Mayer Brown is a great place to work. However, those looking for career advancement opportunities may find that Mayer Brown is not the best fit for them.

Pros: Big law firm that doesn't try to kill you

Pros: Interesting clients, generally nice co-workers, exposure to a lot of different areas, salary, flexibility, people are respectful of your time off

Cons: too little mentorship/people willing to train and teach (very learn as you go) - there are some people but they are hard to come by. Free market system when finding work (very political) and thus sometimes you end up having to take work in areas you have little to no interest in. Micromanaging where sometimes it's hard to find opportunities to take more ownership of work. hard to find work in the areas that you are actually interested in due to the free market system or the office not having a team in the practice area you're interested in
