Daley and Georges is a law firm, certified as a Women Owned Business Enterprise ("WBE") by the City of Chicago, led by attorneys Mara Georges and Michael Daley. Known today for our commitments to excellence and innovation, the firm's success stems from our deep roots in the Chicago legal community, dating back to our establishment in 1936.

The firm was founded by Richard J. Daley, who partnered with William J. Lynch in 1936 to form Daley and Lynch. Daley and Lynch focused on providing sound legal counsel to clients in the corporate, labor and government relations arenas. Described as "the most powerful local politician America has ever produced," Richard J. Daley remained at the firm until 1955 when he became Mayor of the City of Chicago. Mayor Richard J. Daley was re-elected for six terms (1955-1976) and served as the influential chair of the Cook County Democratic Central Committee from 1953 until his death in 1976. The firm continued to prosper after Mayor Richard J. Daley stepped aside under the guidance of many esteemed partners who enjoyed exemplary legal careers.

In 1968, Richard J. Daley's son, Michael Daley, assumed his role as the head of the firm. He was later joined by brothers Richard M. Daley, in 1972, and William M. Daley, in 1977. Richard M. Daley remained at the firm until 1980 when he was elected Cook County State's Attorney. He went on to become Mayor of the City of Chicago, serving from 1989 to 2011; he was re-elected for seven terms, surpassing his father's record as the City of Chicago's longest serving mayor. William Daley remained at the firm until 1984, when he pursued political consulting and corporate opportunities. He went on to serve as Secretary of Commerce for President Clinton and as Chief of Staff for President Obama.

The firm enjoyed tremendous success and a stellar reputation under the continued leadership of Michael Daley who, in addition to his practice, was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to serve as Board member and Treasurer of the Illinois Lawyers Trust Fund. In 2012, Mara Georges - former corporation counsel and senior advisor to the City of Chicago - partnered with Michael Daley. It was the first time in our history that a woman occupied the firm's leadership position.
