OUR HISTORY

The year 2014 marked Cain Hibbard's 50 year anniversary as one of the most diversified and respected law firms in Western Massachusetts. With a lineage extending back to the mid-1800s, we continue a legacy of excellence set by three prominent figures in Berkshire County history: Lincoln Cain, Stephen Hibbard and Frederick Myers. Our firm has been the home to many of Berkshire County's most distinguished lawyers, jurists, and business and community leaders. Our lawyers have won special recognition and awards, and many participate as faculty for continuing legal education programs in their respective fields of practice.

OUR CITIZENSHIP

Our commitment to service is not limited to the practice of law. We are also active in the region's business and civic community. Our philanthropy takes many forms. We regularly provide pro bono legal services, and many of our lawyers serve on the governing boards of both local and regional charities. We are active members of the Berkshire Chamber of Commerce and the Southern Berkshire Chamber of Commerce. We also support our community through direct giving, and our special philanthropic focus is education. We are continuing sponsors of educational programs offered by local cultural venues to Berkshire County's school age children. We support a county-wide educational enrichment initiative that serves all 13 public school districts within the county. And we support the efforts of Berkshire United Way, Literacy Network of South Berkshire, Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, and other charities committed to narrowing educational opportunity gaps in Berkshire County.
OUR LOCATIONS

Based in Pittsfield, Great Barrington, and Williamstown, we serve all of Berkshire County. We also have an active practice in New York, with many of our lawyers admitted to practice in both Massachusetts and New York.
