The law firm was founded in 1963 by Edward Fillenwarth, Sr. and his son, Edward Fillenwarth, Jr. Since then, the firm has developed a strong reputation for advocating for progressive causes and representing unions, employees, and multi-employer benefit plans in a variety of practice areas. In 1974, Rick Dennerline and Bill Groth joined the firm, and they are still with the firm as Of-Counsel attorneys. Fred Towe joined the firm in 1986 and retired in August 2018. The firm's other attorneys are Geoff Lohman, David Vlink, and Daniel Bowman, each of whom are committed to continuing the legacy of the firm as Indiana's go-to firm for union-side labor law.
