Sugden, McFee & Roos LLP was founded in 1988 by Rick Sugden, Robin McFee and Albert Roos. They were joined by Patrick Lewis in 1994. The firm's lawyers have established themselves as standouts in the Vancouver legal community. Presently, we have 19 team members, including 11 lawyers.

Robin, Albert and Pat all enjoy high rankings from Lexpert and Best Lawyers in Canada as leaders in their respective fields: Robin for corporate and commercial litigation and labour and employment law; Albert for personal injury and medical malpractice; Pat for corporate and commercial litigation and wills and estates disputes.

The partnership has more recently welcomed Mike Shirreff and Errin Poyner, who are proud to carry on the tradition of skilled advocacy and commitment to client care established by the senior members of our firm.

The members of our team have represented clients at all levels of court in British Columbia and at the Supreme Court of Canada. We also appear regularly before many provincial administrative tribunals, including the B.C. Securities Commission and the Law Society of B.C.

Rick Sugden retired from practice in 2004 and passed away in January 2009. Today, we continue to remember Rick's generosity as a volunteer and the assistance he provided to his fellow lawyers. Rick engendered the respect of his colleagues for his advocacy skill, civility and good humour. Our lawyers are committed to honouring Rick's legacy in the manner in which we practice our profession.
