On 29.6.2018, Chooi & Company and Cheang & Ariff merged to form Chooi & Company + Cheang & Ariff.





With a combined experience of more than 80 years, Chooi & Company + Cheang & Ariff offers a full range of legal services to support and enhance our clients' business needs and to deal with their other legal concerns both locally and globally through our association with international networks.

Our Story

Chooi & Company was established in 1962, and Cheang & Ariff was established in 1986.

Before the merger, Chooi & Company and Cheang & Ariff were respectively mid-sized law firms, each with approximately 35 to 45 lawyers.

Since their respective establishment, both firms have grown to become recognised and respected, and have been consistently ranked as leading law firms in Malaysia, for both their dispute resolution practice and corporate and financial services practice. Individual lawyers in both firms are consistently ranked and recognised in leading publications for the high quality of their work.

Having worked with one another over the years and with a common vision in mind, both firms merged to form Chooi and Company + Cheang and Ariff on 29.6.2018.

The merger sees a combination of equals with highly complementary practice strengths and experience. Our combined experience of 88 years and our approximately 80 lawyers practising in a diverse range of practice areas, enables us to provide our clients with a comprehensive range of legal services and sound legal solutions.
