The firm was formed in 1997 and has its principal office in New Jersey. In the intervening years, the firm's practice also has grown to include offices in New York, Pennsylvania and Texas. Indeed, its practice has extended beyond those states by utilizing the American Bar Association's multi-jurisdictional practice rules and pro hac vice admission procedures.

The Nissenbaum Law Group has drilled down in the area of complex commercial law so as to provide its clients with the range of knowledge necessary to be full service for businesses and individuals with business matters; to handle the unique and complicated issues facing businesses in the twenty-first century.

While it is true that the typical multi-state practice is usually found in medium and large law firms, the Nissenbaum Law Group has been able to create a spare, collaborative legal team without adding excessive legal personnel. Given that the firm's clients often freely conduct business across state lines, the firm's multi-state offering has provided a particularly helpful alternative.

Our founding principal and managing attorney, Gary D. Nissenbaum, Esq., has practiced commercial law, including business litigation and transactions, for the past 30 years. Mr. Nissenbaum has lived in New Jersey his entire life. He studied at the Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ and passed the New Jersey Bar Exam in 1984. After practicing in a number of well-known firms, he opened the Nissenbaum Law Group in 1997. The firm has been located in Union, NJ for nearly its entire existence. The Union, NJ office is the flagship location for its practice. Part of the reason for choosing Union, NJ was its central location. It is accessible by car, bus or train. In addition, New Jersey has one of the most well-respected state court systems in the United States. Decisions of the New Jersey Supreme Court are routinely cited throughout the country as precedent for groundbreaking changes in the law. The Nissenbaum Law Group is uniquely suited to this legal environment. Its Union, NJ practice is focused primarily on commercial law, notably including intellectual property and Internet law matters. Moreover, the firm's New Jersey commercial clients benefit from being situated between New York City and Philadelphia, two international hubs of commerce. The Nissenbaum Law Group has additional offices in New York (Manhattan), Pennsylvania (Philadelphia), and Texas (Dallas).
