Our First Century

In 1904, when the name "Starbuck" conjured up Moby-Dick, not coffee, and William Boeing was still years from launching his first airplane, attorneys Day Karr and George Gregory formed a law partnership. As Seattle grew, so did the firm the two founded. Although much has changed since then, the firm's mission remains the same: to provide a full range of legal services of the highest quality and integrity, at a fair price, and to put our clients' needs first.

In a collegial, collaborative atmosphere Karr Tuttle Campbell attorneys and staff serve individuals, small and large businesses including Fortune 500 companies, government entities, and nonprofit organizations. Our firm focuses on all aspects of business and finance; employment law; tax, trusts, and estate planning; and litigation. Our clients are engaged in almost every conceivable type of endeavor, and our attorneys, who are deeply experienced in a wide range of practice areas, ably serve their needs. We have a loyal client base, many of whom we have been serving for decades.

In addition to proactively building a technology infrastructure while cultivating a hard-working, collaborative firm culture, Karr Tuttle Campbell has sought to enlarge the set of professional contacts available to meet the needs of our diverse client base. We believe we can provide legal services offering a global reach without sacrificing excellence and distinction to size and bureaucracy. As the exclusive Washington State member of the invitation-only Law Firm Alliance, we have managed to extend our reach to a corresponding network of 50 independent law firms with over 2,800 attorneys across North America, Europe and Asia. Despite our expanded access to broader expertise we remain independent, responsive, accessible and dedicated to our clients.
Excellence

Karr Tuttle Campbell attorneys have served as presidents of the Washington State Bar Association, the King County Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association for the Western District of Washington, the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers, and the International Association of Defense Counsel.

Many Karr Tuttle Campbell attorneys are selected annually for inclusion on best lawyers lists including Law and Politics "Super Lawyers," Washington CEO's and Seattle Magazine's, "top attorneys" lists, Seattle Business Monthly's list of top business attorneys and Woodward/White's "The Best Lawyers in America."
