Powers Pyles Sutter & Verville was founded in 1983 by a group of individuals who shared a desire to create a small, Washington, D.C.-based healthcare law firm with a national practice. They committed to focusing primarily on complex legal issues encountered by hospitals, multihospital systems, physician groups, home health agencies, and other forms of healthcare delivery. Their mission was to emphasize problem-solving skills rather than litigation-oriented strategies and to offer a personal, rather than institutional, service to their clients.Since then, the firm has gradually expanded their capabilities to include a national education practice, public policy and government relations services, employment law services, representation of nonprofit organizations, and representation of clients seeking expertise in other areas of administrative law.
