AVM Advogados was founded by Ant?nio Vicente Marques over 10 years ago. The firm originally began assisting clients as a full service law firms operating through its various offices in Africa, Americas and Europe with an integrated team of more than 90 lawyers.

AVM?s structure has solidified and expanded over the last two decades and our law firm has today become one of the most modern and internationally respected law offices operating in Angola, Brazil, Mozambique and Portugal with the opening of further offices in other jurisdictions currently underway.

The last 10 years has seen AVM grow from a Luanda-based law firm into a truly international practice. AVM has offices in Luanda and Cabinda (Angola) Rio de Janeiro, (Brazil), Maputo (Mozambique), as well in Lisbon and Porto (Portugal).

We deliver corporate and business services to international and national clients in all of these Portuguese speaking countries.

Through our various offices we counsel clients on all aspects of international and national transactions and litigation. Our multidisciplinary teams allow us to anticipate trends and respond in a streamlined manner though our fully integrated offices to complex business and legal issues.

Our offices are fully integrated and we run a continuous lawyer exchange programme between these offices to ensure our lawyers are familiar with the local practice, custom and cultures in the various jurisdictions in which they work. This means we are able to pull together all our resources and respond to our clients' needs at any time and offer an integrated and streamlined service to its global clients with investments in other parts of Africa and Europe.

Our lawyers have been carefully selected for their solid academic backgrounds, international experience and in depth knowledge of local customs as well as the legal and political frameworks of the various jurisdictions where we operate. They have all either undertaken their training with the firm or been recruited from other reputable law firm. We encourage close cooperation and a regular interchange of lawyers between our various offices. AVM's lawyers are qualified in both civil and common law jurisdictions.

We are proud of our African and Portuguese Lusophone history and will continue to grow with and follow our clients into a number of new emerging markets and some more established jurisdictions.
