The core competence of the team at Clarus Law Associates is in structuring, negotiating, drafting and finalizing the documentation for various types of transactions. We also advice on the strategy to address complex project disputes and represent clients before the courts and in arbitration proceedings. Our Firm is headed by three partners: Piyush Joshi, R.V. Anuradha and Sumiti Yadava, who are supported by a vibrant and enthusiastic team. We have a niche practice in projects and project finance, headed by Mr. Piyush Joshi, who has been recognized by the International Who's Who of Project Finance Lawyers as a leading practitioner in his field. Piyush has held positions of responsibility in the in-house legal teams of two major multi-national energy companies, namely, Enron and British Gas. Piyush has extensive multi-sectoral experience in both project development and project financing transactions, as well as in disputes that frequently arise in implementation of infrastructure projects in India. He has advised on the development, financing, operations and maintenance of projects in the energy sector (power, renewable energy, natural gas sectors), urban infrastructure sector (urban planning, township development, urban transport, metro railway networks, tramways, BRTS, regional railways networks, urban mobility), and environment infrastructure sector (municipal solid waste projects, landfill development, landfill capping and landfill reclamation projects). He has also advised project developers in acquisition and restructuring of distressed infrastructure projects. He has also authored the book "Law Relating to Infrastructure Projects" (LexisNexis- Butterworths), which is the only book on Indian law on this subject. Ms. R.V. Anuradha, who heads the team on international trade and investment laws, has been recognized by both Chambers and Partners as well as International Who's Who of Trade and Customs Lawyers as a leading practitioner in her field. She is also a member of the Asia WTO Research Network- a network of academics and practitioners working on WTO law and policy in the Asian region. The Firm advices governments and the private sector on various matters arising under the WTO, Free Trade and Investment Agreements, including disputes arising under such agreements. Anuradha also leads the Firm's team on climate change law and policy, which has advised on the development and financing of environment infrastructure projects relating to municipal solid waste management, sewerage treatment, biomass power, ecosystem restoration, renewable energy and agreements for sale of carbon emission reductions generated from such projects. Ms. Sumiti Yadava focuses on project development and project financing transactions, and general corporate law. Sumiti has extensive experience in the natural gas sector, urban infrastructure sector (urban planning, urban transport, metro railway networks, BRTS, regional railways networks, urban mobility) and environment infrastructure sector (municipal solid waste projects, landfill development, landfill capping and landfill reclamation projects). Our Firm advises clients (developers, lenders and investors) on a wide range of infrastructure projects with focus on the Energy sector, Natural Gas Sector (covering entire LNG, E&P, Gas Pipelines, City Gas Distribution and Gas Sales), Transportation Sector (covering National Highways, State Highways, Private Roads, Ports, Airports, and Railways) and Urban Infrastructure Projects (covering Township Development, Water & Sanitation, Municipal Solid Waste, City Bus Services, Metro Railways, Parking, Urban Mobility Projects and City Green Space Rejuvenation Projects).
