Upon graduating law school, from 2007 to 2010 I served as an Assistant District Attorney General for the Fourteenth Judicial District of the State of Tennessee where I prosecuted both misdemeanor and felony criminal cases.
In January 2010, I joined The Crain Law Center, LLC, located in Brentwood, Tennessee. While there, I expanded my professional litigation experience to the area of civil litigation. In addition, in 2010 I became litigation counsel for the American Center for Law & Justice, a non-profit religious liberties organization, where I fought to defend religious freedom nationwide.
In March 2012, I founded Southerland Law Firm, PLLC. I am admitted to practice before all Tennessee state courts, and the federal courts of the Middle & Eastern Districts of Tennessee and the Eastern & Western Districts of Arkansas. I have also represented clients in several other federal courts across the country, including in Texas, California, Connecticut, and New York.
I reside in Franklin, Tennessee with my wife, Abby, and my two daughters, Emma Grace and Olivia Faith. I am also a member at Fellowship Bible Church - Franklin Campus.
