Originally established as Trussell & Funderburg, P.C. by Bill Trussell and Erskine Funderburg, the firm has been in operation for nearly thirty years. In order to accommodate its growing business and to expand the array of legal services available to its clients, the firm added Pell City natives, John Rea, Lance Bell, Kelly Furgerson, Michael Dillard, and Meg Clements to its legal team. In 2019, the firm hired Talladega attorney, Bry Daves, to serve clients in Talladega and its surrounding communities. Trussell, Funderburg, Rea, Bell & Furgerson, P.C. is a full-service general practice law firm that serves families and businesses in Pell City, Talladega, and their surrounding communities in a variety of practice areas, including civil litigation, real estate, personal injury, criminal defense, family law, governmental counsel, probate and estate planning, and business law.
Because the firm has been helping clients throughout St. Clair County for over twenty-five years, it has a strong connection with Pell City and the surrounding communities. The lawyers at Trussell, Funderburg, Rea, Bell & Furgerson, P.C. have been fortunate to develop lasting relationships with their clients, working with them to resolve their concerns and legal issues for years. For example, in the past, the firm was the first St. Clair County law firm to represent the citizens along Lake Logan Martin in the complex litigation involving Monsanto and PCB contamination, which resulted in a multi-million dollar recovery and the establishment of a $20 million fund to study and remove the contamination from the lake. Building on this tradition, the firm has continued its involvement in the major issues and projects that affect its communities. More recently, the firm has represented the St. Clair County Health Care Authority in its construction of the new St. Vincent's St. Clair Hospital, and because it serves as legal counsel for the City of Pell City, the firm is involved daily with the most pressing issues facing our City. In addition, the firm assists in the recruitment of new businesses to our community through its representation of the Pell City Industrial Development Board and helps promote the education of the students in St. Clair County through its representation of the St. Clair County Board of Education.
