We are a boutique law firm centered on the construction industry and serving clients with their legal needs on construction and development projects across the country. Over the past 20 years, our attorneys have become trusted legal advisors and counsel for many of the country's largest contractors and engineering firms. We have been relied upon for guidance and representation involving vital business and legal matters facing our clients, and we have assisted clients with their construction and energy projects from Hawai'i to Alaska to the East Coast, as well as international matters.

The firm was founded in 2018 by Eddie James and Chris Sobba, two partners that had practiced construction law together for nearly 20 years, and that co-chaired a prominent national Construction Law Practice Group at an 850+ attorney law firm in the Am Law Top 100. The James | Sobba firm was founded with a vision of and dedication to providing clients with sophisticated big firm legal experience and expertise on their projects, but with the benefits of a boutique firm platform that is industry focused.

What We Do

We offer full service "start to finish" assistance with your construction and development projects. We partner with our clients from project inception, assisting with and/or handling the planning, drafting and negotiation of contracts, regardless of the project delivery method being employed. During construction, we assist our clients with day-to-day guidance, including but not limited to assisting with claims preparation, early claims resolution, and project close out. When the need arises, we have extensive experience handling dispute resolution procedures, including but not limited to mediation, arbitration, and jury and bench trials in courts across the country.
