BBKCC is the largest law firm in East Central Indiana. The firm began in 1911 by its founder, Denver Harlan, and was further developed by his son, John M. Harlan, who remained with the firm until his retirement in December 1997. Beginning in 1998, the remaining partners with the firm "merged" with the younger partners from the second largest firm in Richmond to form the current group, Boston Bever Klinge Cross & Chidester. The firm is proud of the fact that one of its partners, Adam G. Forrest, is the great grandson of founder Denver Harlan.
In keeping with its history of quality representation, the firm continues to experience success in representing many local businesses, organizations, governmental units and families in the Richmond/Wayne County area. According to its managing partner, Richard E. Boston, "The firm remains the most dedicated, experienced and hardest working firm in East Central Indiana." From its continued work, it appears this view is shared by the current clientele, which includes the City of Richmond; Wayne County government; Richmond Community Schools; the Wayne County Area Chamber of Commerce; almost all county communities and school corporations; various non-profit groups, such as the YMCA, Girl Scouts and the Boys & Girls Clubs; bank institutions; and numerous local businesses, professionals, and families.
