Johnson and Masumi was founded over 30 years ago in Fairfax County, Virginia, by Mr. Randall Lee Johnson under the name of Johnson & Associates. After graduating from the Moritz School of Law at the Ohio State University in 1973, Mr. Johnson practiced law in Ohio until 1986. Thereafter, he moved to Virginia in 1986, and became a member of the Virginia State Bar. Mr. Johnson decided to practice primarily immigration law. He worked tirelessly in this field and became well known in various immigrant communities. In 1988 he became a member of the Bar in the District of Columbia. In 1990 Mr. Johnson was admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court. In 1991 he became a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association. His practice spread throughout the United States, especially within the Haitian communities in Maryland, the District of Columbia, New York, Connecticut, and Florida. The firm grew in size and name recognition by focusing on individual immigration rights. Mr. Johnson practiced in immigration courts throughout the United States. He expanded his practice to the DC Court of Appeals, as well as the First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, and Eighth Federal Court of Appeals. Randall Johnson founded Johnson and Associates based on his core belief in the values of democracy. He believed that liberty and justice is a fundamental right to all persons who reside within the United States. Over the years the firm has helped over 5,000 clients from all parts of the world including North, South, and Central America, as well as Africa, the Caribbean and various countries throughout Europe and Asia. The majority of his clients have been from the East Coast and many have been residing throughout the greater United States. Approaching retirement in February, 2018, Randall Johnson was delighted to see the firm transition to Senior Staff Attorney Ms. Mariam Masumi Daud under the name of Johnson & Masumi, P.C. As the Owner and Principal Attorney of the firm, Mariam Masumi Daud is building on Johnson's core principle of compassion and personal service to immigrants and is proud to continue the firm's tradition of excellence.
