Founded in 2018 by two of Oklahoma's leading oil and gas attorneys, CharneyBrown offers full-service representation to both individual and corporate clients from across the state. Recognizing a need in the energy industry for complete, collaborative and cost-effective legal representation, Jacob Charney and Benjamin Brown merged their respective firms in order to provide a unique service that not only better serves the needs of individual mineral owners, but ushers corporate energy clients through all legal needs from prospect to pipeline.

With almost a decade of experience in the industry, Mr. Charney brings a specific expertise to the firm and handles the majority of CB's transactional work, specializing in the research and creation of Drilling Title Opinions, Division Order Title Opinions, and more. After years spent working closely with landmen and other industry professionals, Mr. Charney identified the need for a more efficient and effective system to not only create his Opinions, but to clearly communicate his findings to clients without unnecessarily complex, confusing language. Mr. Brown has a uniquely varied work history that includes over 10 years spent as both an in-house accountant and landman at Oklahoma energy companies before transitioning into his current role as an independent attorney specializing in matters before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission (OCC). As CB's litigation specialist, Mr. Brown handles a wide array of clients from across the state, providing production companies with the highly specialized advisement, mediation and representation services needed in order to make moves in Oklahoma's energy industry.
