A trend emerged when our clients began asking for more personal service. We saw an increasing need for sophisticated, efficient legal representation for businesses involved in serious litigation. We responded by opening Lincoln Derr PLLC.
It began in a rustic courtroom in rural North Carolina. The stakes were high and the attorneys on the other side were nationally known and well-respected. We had an uphill battle, a very difficult case and a client who rested his fate in our hands.
We were both seasoned trial attorneys, paired together for the first time. Individually, we were equally strong-willed, competitive and devoted. Although we had been longtime friends and colleagues, we were each accustomed to lead roles. We secretly wondered whether or not our work together would be a smashing success or a complete failure.
Shortly after trial started, our chemistry in the courtroom was obvious. Sara's tenacity and quick wit combined easily with Tricia's innovation and intensity. Our duo left little to be desired. The jury agreed, and quickly returned a verdict for our client.
We knew then our skills were uniquely matched. We recognized we had something special to offer our clients. Although different in so many ways, we shared a passion for our work, a "fire in the belly," and the old-fashioned belief that hard work and dedication are the cornerstones to success.
A few years later, the dream of Lincoln Derr, PLLC materialized. In the economy of 2009, we saw a distinct need for diverse, high quality and creative representation ? without the overhead of a big firm. In the Fall of 2009, we opened the doors of Lincoln Derr PLLC.
Since that time, we have selectively added attorneys and staff who share in our values and desire to provide the best possible legal representation to our clients.
