2005

Ira A. Eddymurthy speaks at the 15th annual Inter-Pacific Bar Association Conference in Bali, which is opened by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

2004

SSEK advises the creditor group on the restructuring of Asian Pulp & Paper, the largest debt restructuring in Asian history.

Michael S. Carl joins SSEK as a legal advisor with a focus on corporate law and foreign investment, banking and finance, mergers and acquisitions, and energy and mining.

2003

SSEK appoints new partners for the first time, naming Rusmaini Lenggogeni, among others, and defines SSEK as an open partnership.

2002

SSEK celebrates its 10th anniversary at Gedung Arsip Jakarta with over 1,000 guests.

Ira A. Eddymurthy represents Indonesia at the Inter-Pacific Bar Association, a role she holds through 2008.

Jonathan M. Streifer joins SSEK as a legal advisor with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, debt restructurings and other cross-border business transactions.

1998 to 2000

SSEK advises a number of clients with assets held by the Indonesian Bank Restructuring Agency.

1997

During the Asian economic crisis, SSEK participates in the Initiative Group and contributes ideas on ways to deal with unsettled debt, including the new Bankruptcy Law.

Darrell R. Johnson is selected as a fellow of the American Bar Association.

1992

SSEK is founded and moves into a brand new building, Mayapada Tower, in the heart of Jakarta's business district.

SSEK's senior foreign legal advisor, Darrell R. Johnson, manages the Economic Law and Improved Procurement (ELIPS) Project, the largest single-country law reform project in the world, on behalf of the project contractors. Members of SSEK participate on the Board of Advisors of the ELIPS Project until 1998, helping to draft, finalize and socialize several laws, including the Company Law and the Fiducia Law.
