Our Philosophy
The Nelson Law Firm, LLC was founded in 2002 by Stephen J. Nelson with one simple philosophy: the Firm would provide the highest quality legal services with the highest degree of integrity and professionalism. As the Firm grows, we work hard to ensure that all of our attorneys share that philosophy and embrace our commitment to excellence.

We believe effective legal advice is understandable, sensible and practical. Legal services should advance strategic business objectives, as well as protect from unnecessary, unforeseen risks. The best legal services are cost-effective and add value to the enterprise.

We Understand
We have been on the other side ? business people needing legal services. We avoid practices that annoyed us about lawyers. Our clients hear from us regularly so they don't have to track us down to find out what is going on with their legal work. We welcome calls from our clients, and all questions from clients are important to us. We return calls and e-mails promptly. Our practice is to tell our clients in advance what we think things will cost and inform them immediately when unforeseen events cause material increases in costs. We send out bills every month, and there are no surprises.

It is a part of our practice to learn how our clients make money, the challenges they face and their plans for growth. That way, we can communicate new developments in the law and help our clients prepare for future events. Sometimes, we may even help our clients make a profit from anticipating a change in the law. It's not always bad news.

We Enjoy Practicing Law
Most of all, we enjoy practicing law. This is a small firm. We don't have to worry about keeping an army of people busy all the time. So, we are willing to learn new things. We read a lot. We take on matters that are interesting to us and important to our clients. As a result, we often find ourselves seeking changes in the law, marching into uncharted legal terrain. Some large firms call this "cutting edge" legal work. We think our clients deserve and receive from our hands the very finest legal services available anywhere, and this includes creative, innovative legal work.
