Since 1992, Campbell, Williams, Ference & Hall has provided personalized legal representation to Utah health care practitioners. Focusing primarily upon medical malpractice defense and health care law, our attorneys provide zealous representation to individual health care professionals, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, hospitals and clinics in malpractice suits before federal and state courts and in disciplinary proceedings before the state licensing boards. Our well-trained lawyers have years of experience in litigating bench and jury trials, arbitration proceedings and engaging in appellate advocacy. Our firm has extensive knowledge of Utah law in the specialized area of medical negligence and we partner with well-credentialed health care experts who understand the complex nature of medical malpractice litigation. As experienced litigators, our attorneys quickly identify, understand, and address the medical issues as well as the legal issues that commonly arise in malpractice litigation. A staff of highly skilled nurse paralegals assist in file assessment, summarizing and obtaining medical records, and research of the complex medical issues.
Campbell, Williams, Ference & Hall was originally founded by Richard W. Campbell, who was admitted to the Utah Bar in 1953. A distinguished member of the American Board of Trial Advocates and American College of Trial Lawyers, Richard was recognized as the Utah Trial Lawyer of the Year in 1988 and received the Utah Second District Inaugural Professionalism Award in 2006. Mr. Campbell built the reputation of the firm on principles of honesty, integrity and communication.
The firm has represented multiple Wasatch Front based professional liability insurance carriers as well as national professional liability insurance carriers, including UMIA Inc., Intermountain Healthcare, MedPro, CHG Healthcare, Ironshore, General Electric, FPIC, COPIC and Liberty Mutual. Our attorneys appreciate that each client is unique and has their own expectations. The years of experience have taught us that there is no single approach to a defense strategy that will accommodate every client. While each client will invariably have distinct needs, the shared common goals are that of early analysis, thorough and early communication between attorney and client, prompt reporting, efficient representation through quick resolution of claims, and individualized representation through trial and appeal.
