Founding partner of the firm. Raphael?s specialized in litigation and has extensive experience with judicial litigation, arbitration, mediation and highly complex negotiations in Brazil and abroad. Having over 25 years of practical experience, he has been recognized for his civil, commercial and administrative law services in insurance and reinsurance, infrastructure, energy, mining, oil & gas and consumer law.

Raphael holds a degree in Law from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) and has been named among best Brazilian lawyers in the insurance and reinsurance areas by Chambers and Partners (2011-2019 editions) and Euromoney's Expert Guide. The Legal 500 and Leaders League (2017-2018 editions) also recognizes by his practices in civil and commercial litigation/arbitration. In 2019, Best Lawyers included Raphael as one of the best litigation lawyers in Brazil.

Raphael?s currently Board Member of retail, communications and third sector companies. He has also published several insurance articles and participated as a panelist at congresses in Brazil and abroad. In his career, Raphael acted as member of insurance committees at the OAB/RJ (Rio de Janeiro?s Bar Association), Fenaseg (National Federation of Private Insurance, and Capitalization and Complementary Welfare Companies) and lectured classes at the ENS (the National Insurance School).

Raphael spent 18 years at Sergio Bermudes Advogados, from 1993 to 2011, before founding Raphael Miranda Advogados.
