Wrightsel & Wrightsel was formed in 2001 when Doug Wrightsel, after nearly 40 years of large firm experience, teamed up with one of his sons, Brad Wrightsel, to focus their practice in a small family setting. Their distinct backgrounds in similar areas of practice result in a very compatible combination. Their collective legal experience spans over 60 years.
Doug Wrightsel's experience includes will contests, actions construing and challenging validity of trusts, taking action to validate and qualify charitable remainder trusts through use of disclaimers and construction actions, representing fiduciaries and beneficiaries (charitable and individual) in tortious interference actions, and related types of litigation involving the rights of charitable and individual estate and trust beneficiaries. Doug has frequently served as an expert witness in probate/trust and attorney malpractice matters. Doug is also an experienced mediator.
Brad Wrightsel's legal experience commenced as a magistrate with the Franklin County Probate Court, where he heard matters involving estate and trust administration, guardianships, and adoptions. Upon leaving the court for private practice in 1995, Brad's professional experience in probate law naturally progressed to include estate planning. Brad is certified as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate Law by the Ohio State Bar Association.
